Today we said to good-bye to Athens, packed up and headed to the mountain-side town of Delphi.
We got there in the evening and just enjoyed what we saw. I treated Lynette to dinner since it was her birthday, and we did a bit of shopping.
The next day we went to explore Delphi's ruins.
The next day we went to explore Delphi's ruins.
First up the museum.
We ate lunch, and then headed to Apollo's temple.
We climbed further up to see the stadium. Can you imagine athletes running down this straight track in a race, with the judges in the middle and the crowd going wild?
Then we headed back down to see Athena's temple.
Unfortunately, the gymnasium was closed to visitors so this is all we got to see.
It was a very warm day, and we had done lots of climbing, so after going back to the hotel to grab our bags, we went to a cafe and ordered waffles and ice cream for our dinner. It was my last day in Greece, so I don't have to eat healthy, right? ;)
We caught the bus back to Athens, and then found the hotel near the airport so I could catch my early morning flight.
